David Michael Powers is my best friend, husband and lover. Need I say more? YES!
Some things I have come to learn about him……
He makes the Bible come alive. He can tell any story in the Bible and make it more real than I’ve ever heard before. I remember more stories that he has told me than any reading that I’ve done myself.
He is 6 ft tall. He is the perfect height for me. It is perfect for when I need one of those hugs that I can melt into his chest and rest.
He has the most wonderful voice. He can sing loud or soft and pretty much make your heart melt. I know God’s heart melts everytime He hears him sing.
He knows how to confront in the most encouraging way. He helps me to put my guard down. He has shown me that confrontation can be something so liberating and wonderful.
He is strong. He picks me up like its nothing. I’ve seen him do tree work and it’s insane.
He follows the Holy Spirit. He is willing to put his plans down so that the Holy Spirit can move in power.
He is a dynamic speaker. When he speaks it’s as if you were commanded to listen. He captivates your mind and heart and make it so applicable to your life. It’s like sitting with a friend and having a compelling conversation.
He prefers me above himself. He gives me the side of the bed I want, he lets me control the temp in the house and car, he gives me the car with air conditioning and sweats all day as he drives around in 100 degree weather, he will take me out to eat if I just can’t cook that night, he’ll let me have time with the Lord when I’m at my end. (the list goes on..)
He pastors people. He loves people. He listens to people and cares for them. He really does pray when he tells you he will pray for you.
He is the best daddy to Hunter. He can throw Hunter at least 4 feet into the air, he builds trains, plays blocks, chases, plays hide-n-seek over and over, pretends that crocodiles are coming and hides under the blankets, says, “I love you” all the time, takes him to the bathroom, cleans up messes, makes sure to kiss and hug Hunter a lot, does dips and push ups with Hunter on his back, disciplines in love, and has helped pull at least 30 splinters out of the bottom of Hunter’s hands and feet.
He is a worshipper. I would compare him to David in the Bible. He is close to God’s heart!
He knows how to be a provider. He would do anything to take care of his family.
He is a fantastic guitar player. He practices and he has improved at guitar in the past couple of years. I love to hear him playing at 1 am.
He has the deepest most beautiful blue eyes. He is not afraid to use them! He looks right into my eyes and makes me fall to pieces.
He is a good listener. He listens even when I’m overly emotional. WHOA!
He pursues me. He loves me. He helps to guard my heart. He pushes me to be the woman that God desires me to be. He helps me. He corrects me. He teaches me. He honors me.
I am blessed! Praise the Lord!
