The first kiss…..March 2003
I think Imogen Heap describes the night so well for me: “Oh, why’d you have to be so cute? It’s impossible to ignore you. Must you make me laugh so much? It’s bad enough we get along so well.”
It’s supposed to send you to the moon, make your knees weak, etc. which is what our first kiss did but it also sent a chill of guilt and remorse at the same time. Dave and I had been getting to know each other as friends for the past 5 1/2 months. He was in an internship and wasn’t allowed to date and I had just gotten out of a bad relationship. At the time we knew we wanted to date after he got out of the internship which would end just 1 1/2 months later, in May. One evening he was at my parents’ home and it just happened. THE KISS. (da na na *musical effects make it way better!) It was wonderful, as I said but it felt like it was the WRONG timing! He had to go to the leader of the internship and confess and after many other crazy events, (that you will have to ask me about in person) Dave felt a release from the internship and we started dating the next day. (beautiful history) When we look back at this event we are so grateful that God had him where he was so we could be friends first.
David Michael, if you wouldn’t have been so cute and wonderful that kiss might not have happened and what a tragedy that might have been! I’m so glad we kissed that blessed night 5 years ago.
Lord, thank you for that first kiss and all the kisses that have followed. Let my worship to you be these kisses for the rest of our lives together!

Photo # 1-My niece. Averi Jadyn. Doesn’t she make you want to yawn? SO cute! I love when I get great pics like these!
Photo # 2- My niece, Guinivere Eden. Dave came home from Philly and she loves DP! I love this pic because it is very rare that we get Guini in a full smile for the camera!
Photo # 3-My niece, Gemma May. She is our smiler. I got her to laugh right after this picture. AWESOME!

I love that families have their own traditions, games, inside jokes, and special moments together. My family could sit around the dinner table for hours laughing and reminiscing of all the great moments in our lives growing up. I have absolutely loved having my own family now and creating some of those long lasting memories that will be dear to my heart for eternity.
One of the moments we share is precious to me. I can’t even tell you when or how it started but I love it. Dave and Hunter and I will listen to each others hearts and tell one another what song is playing at different times. Sometimes, Hunter will tell me my heart is singing different songs such as: I love you, Lord or Hosanna and sometimes it is even the ABC’s. I am always interested in what he hears! I am pretty sure DP has told me that my heart sings, I love Dave a lot! ( I think it does!)
“The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.” Luke 6:45
“I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.” Psalm 16:7
“As in water face reflects face, so a man’s heart reveals the man.” Proverbs 27:19
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Matthew 5:8
God, I pray that my heart will always be singing your praise. I want my heart to adore you and to worship you because Your Word says that what is in my heart, comes out of my heart. Be the song of my heart!
