The song of my heart.

In Uncategorized on March 15, 2008 by tarapowers

I love that families have their own traditions, games, inside jokes, and special moments together. My family could sit around the dinner table for hours laughing and reminiscing of all the great moments in our lives growing up. I have absolutely loved having my own family now and creating some of those long lasting memories that will be dear to my heart for eternity.

One of the moments we share is precious to me. I can’t even tell you when or how it started but I love it. Dave and Hunter and I will listen to each others hearts and tell one another what song is playing at different times. Sometimes, Hunter will tell me my heart is singing different songs such as: I love you, Lord or Hosanna and sometimes it is even the ABC’s. I am always interested in what he hears! I am pretty sure DP has told me that my heart sings, I love Dave a lot! ( I think it does!)

“The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.” Luke 6:45

“I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.” Psalm 16:7

“As in water face reflects face, so a man’s heart reveals the man.” Proverbs 27:19

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Matthew 5:8

God, I pray that my heart will always be singing your praise. I want my heart to adore you and to worship you because Your Word says that what is in my heart, comes out of my heart.  Be the song of my heart!

  1. Great post, Tara. Good reminder to fill our hearts with the things of the Lord. And, I love the tradition you guys started. Awesome! 🙂

  2. That is so beautiful, honey. You are such an amazing mommy and wife.

  3. That is really cute! I can’t wait to start my own traditions mixed with those that come from our Godly heritage. I wonder what song the Lord hears coming from my heart…
